Weather is always a roll of the dice and it looks as if it is not going to be a great weather day for the Kruizen Knights Big Car Cruise. Always a hard call to make in most cases, when it comes to vintage cars, I know they really can only be appreciated in the best of conditions…
So, anyone who was planning to come to the well advertised annual event, it unfortunately won’t be happening. The Chandlery Gift Shop and The Stillroom will be opened from at least 1 to 5 to accomodate foul weather shoppers!
The voting for people’s choice for best flower display seems to have been well recieved and the winners will be announced in spite of the weather. We will post the winners as soon as I find out. Main Street overflowed with flowers and they are just starting to reach their full summerness. How wonderful to see this small village so colorful and enjoyable to walk through.
If I could vote, I would vote for Novotny’s Pizza shop for their enthusiasm by planting an overnight garden in old tomato cans and lined them up on their outdoor counter. This place is run by a young kid and (they make a great whit
e pizza) he gets our vote for originality. It’s like art. In fact, here is a picture of it. We loved the thought behind this!
Anyhow, we are in the midst of a pretty great summer, (in spite of the fact that our car cruise was cancelled) enjoying our staycation around Pittsburgh. There was a great article in The New York Times recently about what a great city we have. As if we didn’t already know that!
