I have been a bit late in updating this blog.  For the two people that read it, here’s what’s been happening…

The transitional months of April and May are just about done and soon I will be getting ready for OUTSIDE LIFE and grabbing as much sunlight as humanly possible!

The Stillroom Gift and Tea Shop carries quite a few standard items that we try not to run out of…but sometimes do.

The Stillroom has new tea flavors on order and my famous quick iced tea recipe is now available as a flyer that you can grab the next time you are in for your summer tea supply.

Summer beach kites are in stock!  The mini’s are flying out of the door and there is a nice selection of large kites too! (damn you Walmart, ours are better).  You don’t need a beach in order to fly a fine kite.  Just a good field like, oh, I don’t know, the field up by Mt. Airy cemetery?  Just watch where you step because its a favorite place for dogs to run and deer to roam.

Old fashioned jacks are back in stock!  Teach your children well.  Rain or shine these are  fun! The jacks are made in the USA and brought to us from an awesome company located in Charleroi.

Claire Burke Original Scent Sprays are back on the shelves again. This is a standard scent that I love more than anything.  It is heady, earthy and strong and not for everyone.  For those who love it, you know who you are, I gots it.

The only thing I’m waiting on now are the honey sticks.  These are sent from New Stanton (up the pike) and naturally are taking longer than items ordered from California.  Go figure.

As always, I try and find time to explore estate sales throughout the Pittsburgh area to bring you bits of this and that.

Sunday, May 19th is the FIRST FLEATIQUE of the season and Diamond Antiques opens at 8! Refreshments AND a sidewalk sale to boot edge edge!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend and get your summer weather off to a great start by visiting Diamond Antiques and Gifts for all of your warm weather entertaining needs!

We have you covered!

This lithophane light is beyond! It is made of delicate porcelain and is a left over piece from when the shop carried a whole light panel full of various designs. This is backlit by the sun so you can only imagine it’s beauty when plugged in. Regularly 25.00, this last one is a glorious ten bucks and is available now! So wicked cute!

Go Fly a Kite!

Seriously!  Get outside.  Go to 311 E. Sixth Avenue in Tarentum and go to Diamond Antiques and Gifts.  As you go through the door turn right and enter The Stillroom shop.

Here you will find kites that flew in from Bend, Oregon.  The shop has kites with a cool bi-plane for the decoration (for the airplane enthusiast) and a few left with a fairy on it just waiting to take flight…very cute.

Micro Mini Kites just arrived!  These babies will fly in a breeze and make the sweetest little Easter Basket extras.

Next, go find a field.  Unpack your kite (comes in a carrying case) unravel the tail and the string and let it fly!  Kids and adults that still have some kid in them will have fun and give the cool winds of spring a good reason to blow.

The shop has old timey jacks and those little tin games with the beads that you have to get in the little hole.   I’m sure there is a name for it but in the mean time let’s just call it brainless fun.  The game fits easily into a pocket or a purse and comes in handy when you need to settle your brain down a little.  It’s good for dexterity too!  These games are made in the USA and are purchased from a local area business, what’s not to like?

Spring teas are in!  Sweet honey dew, asian pear, red dragon chai, meyer lemon to name just a few.

The usual hats, gloves, teapot, cups, honey, strainers and all of that jazz are on the shelves along with all of my cool estate sale finds.

Annual Spring Sale

Diamond Antiques and Gifts storewide spring sale is happening from February 27th through March 3rd!

Pretty darn good sales are going on in this locally owned and operated store.  Discounts of 20% on items over ten dollars over the whole place!   Take advantage of this celebration week with us and enjoy not only the discounts, but of some of the most awesome furnishings and beyond of any store under one roof!

Located in the riverside borough of Tarentum, you owe it to yourself to come in and discover what we already know…this store is awesome!

Don’t forget that The Stillroom Gift and Tea shop is located just inside the door of Diamond Antiques and Gifts.

What’s new for spring at The Stillroom?  Well kites of course!  When I say go fly a kite, I mean it.  When March comes in like a lion what better way to welcome the change of season than standing in the middle of a field and letting one rip!  Cute little fairy or bi plane kites flew in from Bend, Oregon.

After a brisk couple of hours of kite flying, warm up again with a hot cup of tea!
