Here we are. Flicking off the remaining days of winter with spring in sight! I don’t mind the late season snow fall. To me, it makes a warm spring day that much sweeter.
This week is the Spring Open House! From March 4 through the 8th, there will be dealer discounts throughout the shop. The majority of vendors offer 20% off on any item over ten dollars so come in and save. Save yourself from the dreary days that are still exchanging weather with February as we welcome March as it clearly is coming in like a Lion! Don’t despair though, the weather this weekend will be almost 40 and that, my friends, is a heat wave!
Here is what’s new on The Stillroom Shelves for the spring open house. If you are looking for local honey, look no further than The Stillroom Tea Shop where you will find Moser’s mini honey bears. These little honey bears are the cutest and make a sweet addition to any gift of tea for the tea fanatic in your life! Couple one of these cuties with a package of tea for under seven dollars!
An old favorite is back! I am starting to carry Aunt Ann’s Biscotti again! I started off with Red Velvet and Salted Caramel. Match a flavor with a like tea. Red Velvet Biscotti and Red Velvet Tea or Salted Caramel Biscotti with Salted Caramel Yerba Mate. Yummo!
Tea flavors that arrived this week include Meyer Lemon, Black Forest, Organic Sunny Orange Ginger, Organic Lavender Tulsi and Organic Vanilla Honeybush . A new tea order went in last week so there will be new flavors coming in around the 20th of March.
The tea pods are back in stock! These are just the coolest and most delicious teas and they are fun to watch. Simply immerse the tea pod (it is a tightly wrapped bulb) in almost boiling water in a glass teapot or even a mason jar and watch the magic unfold right before your eyes! The Tiffany (named after Louis Tiffany) Rose tea pod slowly opens up into a beautiful flower and once in full bloom, tastes as beautiful as it looks! This is a light floral rose flavored tea with green tea notes will make your tastebuds do the happy dance! Elegant, fragrant and delicious. These are fun for a tea party with your favorite little person.
I have an ever changing array of antiques and collectibles in addition to all of the wonderful teas. One of the best parts of being at the antique co op is enhancing my giftware with cool and quirky gifts from the past. My motto is “give a peace of the past for the present”. For all of you hipsters out there, come in and try on some groovy vintage hats in my Hats in the Belfry corner. If you can’t find a hat you love in my corner, you will surely find one somewhere in the shop! Lots of hats and purses.
Lavender petals have arrived at The Stillroom. Lavender is available by the ounce, in the form of Organic Lavender Tulsi tea or in handmade sachets. Lavender has a beautiful scent and is said to calm the senses through inhalation. Keep a sachet in your purse, car or at your desk or nightstand, give a gentle squeeze to break down the petals and release the gentle scent. Sleep pillows are locally made and filled with organic lavender and have a removable, washable cover. Culinary lavender is also available for your summer lavender lemonade or lavender scones. Mmmmm.
So there you have it. This is the update from The Stillroom Tea Shop! Now located inside of Diamond Antiques and Gifts, stop in and see just how great a store Diamond Antiques is. It is a great place to spend some time perusing the antiques and vintage wares that are offered by over 20 vendors. Located at 311 East Sixth Avenue in Tarentum, next to Massart’s Diner, come in and give a piece of the past for the present. You will be happy you did!
