Changing my tune. I have now moved on from listening to every Wilco album since Jeff Tweedy’s Uncle Tupelo days to enjoying some old school Hall and Oates.
In 1990, Change of Seasons was a pretty good album from Hall and Oates. (If you want to see live shows online, check out Darryl’s House). So, if you were/are a fan of Philly’s blue eyed soul, you can listen to it online. They still hold up pretty well since their Sara Smile days. If you haven’t guessed it yet, I am a huge music fan. Still collecting and spinning vinyl in my 1960’s game room.
Change is so much more than seasons. We change every day, much like the weather. Most changes can be controlled by our own hands, and those are the ones we like the best.
The gradual letting go of hot, humid days has come easy for me. Go I say, even though I will be screaming for you to come back to me again in January. In the meantime, I am basking in the glow of this thing that is appearing in the early fall sky. I think they call it “the sun”.
When the last four months of the year roll around, changes seem to come fast and furious so get ready. For those of us that enjoy interior design, creating a visually awesome, updated, comfortable and cozy space for the festive months ahead is the best part of the change of seasons. When you browse Diamond Antiques and Gifts for special seasonal touches, you have come to the best place to shop in the A-K Valley.
Affordable? OMG! If there is one thing customers leave with, it is how great the prices are at Diamond Antiques.
Selection? Hang on to your hat because your head will spin when you explore two floors of locally found furnishings for the home. From the little odds and ends like fragrant soaps, wreaths, candles, odd ball knick knacks and bric a brack to full blown furnishings like tables and chairs and architecturally awesome pieces. If your head spins so much and your hat flies off, you can find a great selection of vintage hats!
Style? There are so many different styles happening under one roof at Diamond Antiques and Gifts that your interior design project can start here! The change of season brings cool weather finds like antique quilts, pillows and pumpkins.
Dry Goods? Yep, we have them. The shop offers Curly Tail Coffee, Stash Tea, locally sourced honey along with organic fragrant herbs and spices. Locally made biscotti and cookies are ready to put into a thoughtful gift basket for upcoming host/hostess gifts or to stock your coffee and tea pantry for the impending cool weather months ahead of us.
Customer service? Our clerks are delightful, helpful, knowledgeable and always willing to take time to help you find what you are looking for. We love the conversations that we have with our clients that range from discovering information about a particular antique or collectible to what is a good cup of tea to relax with when we put our feet up at the end of the day.
My styles in my personal space have change quite a bit over the years. There was a time when I enjoyed the Victorian look of darker color palettes of burgundy and gold with bigger, heavier pieces of furniture. Lamps were adorned with crystals and artwork was large and in charge. Now, all of these years later after streamlining and simplifying my style, I have a total mid century modern thing happening with clean lines and no heavy fabrics including curtains and carpets. Black and white and sparse. Most of these awesome furnishings have come to me compliments of the collectors and Diamond Antiques and Gifts!
