I hope everyone had a nice Christmas holiday. Our family had a really lovely evening. Some of us see one another only a few times a year so Christmas Eve is very special. Some come straight from mass dressed in their holiday best, some wear ugly sweaters and last year the oldest siblings started to wear their Christmas pajamas! Smart move. In the previous post, I mentioned that my two year old oven took a dump a few days before guests were to arrive for dinner and I was in charge of making the first ham in my life. Did I panic! Aw hell no. I immediately went online to see if a ham can be made in a crock pot and the answer was “yes!” Just want to say it turned out pretty good according to everyone. I’m not a fan so either they were being polite or it was actually good. It was a half ham and the crock pot is oval so you do need those prerequisites to make it happen. Anyhow, after the oven broke, we decided we would get a counter top unit that air fries, bakes etc. So, in Christmas Eve day we unboxed it, placed it and wiped down insides etc as directed. I was moving it around last night only to see the whole back of it is deeply dented. So, guess what we will be doing today or tomorrow. “One, two, ten” I think that might be my new mantra for 2020. Anyone that might have watched Home Alone will know what comes after ten. Lol
