Hot off the press! The Stillroom Sweet Botanical Blend is in the shop. I wish you could partake of this beautiful scent through the screen but alas, you have to stop in the shop to experience this delightfully blended marriage of herbs, spices and fragrant florals.
It has been about thirty years since I figured out just what to put into these perfumed little pillows when I was learning to create my very own fragrance in the form of botanicals and spices. In fact, when I first opened my shop it was based on gifts from the good earth. The Stillroom held most of what one would find in a Stillroom. Dried roses, mints, bergamot, patchouli, lavender, lemon balm, frankincense and myrrh, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves, and vanilla beans. The list of natural scents is a long one!
I wish you could be in the workshop when I’m blending all of this. I purposely create the atmosphere before hand with some ambient space music so it is zen and relaxed and chill. Quite frankly, this is just what I need to wash away all of the incoming missiles that try and harsh my short lived buzz throughout the course of a day.
Some days it just seems like these moments of true self indulgence are so brief I forget what it’s like to just actually be in any one moment where my blood pressure isn’t going through the roof!
Me busy. lol
That’s where my cup of tea (or for me a tisane) comes in to play. Nothing like a relaxing cup of chamomile to take the edge off of pretty much everything these days.
So here’s some news that will fill your space with fragrance in a whole different kind of way. Fire up those ovens and get you some heavy cream because you are going to need it!
Soon The Stillroom shelves will be filled with mini jars of honey and Devonshire cream to go with the new scone mixes arriving just in time for the fall and winter baking season. I’m pretty stoked about these mixes from Rabbit Creek. You know them. You love them. Perfect for when you need a little something sort of fancy schmancy and hot out of your own oven!
Come in, grab an awesome vintage apron, gather a scone mix, honey, Devonshire cream, a tea cup, a sugar stick, and your favorite tea and take a minute and try to create your own quiet time. The kitchen will smell like baked scones, the tea will relax you. All you have to do is shut off the phone and lock everyone out of the house.
I kid.
Or do I?
All of the goodies are in transit and will be on shelves soon!
