I brought the Cream Scone Mixes to the shop today! I thought the seasonal flavors of pumpkin spice and cranberry orange would be good flavors to start with along with chocolate chip. I am a real sucker for pumpkin spice season I must admit. And I pretty much like anything chocolate.
I like to coordinate the flavored teas with some sort of treat. I like to pair a chocolate biscotti or chocolate chip scone with a cup of Stash Organic Chocolate Orange dessert tea. Or a cranberry scone with a cup of Harney & Sons Cranberry Orange loose tea. The mixing and matching possibilities are endless!
The Stillroom has the Stash Pumpkin Spice dessert tea on the shelf for the kick off of Pumpkin Season. The dessert teas are best when they have a splash of milk in them. The dessert teas may or may not be sweetened or you may or may not care for the milk. I like both. This tea tastes just like pumpkin pie!
The shop is starting to look just like autumn. It smells like autumn. It tastes like autumn. It all arrives and comes together just in time to say hello to the official start of the last quarter of the year.
Hey! Guess what’s in store soon? Its the annual Antique Appraisal Fair! It will be taking place Sunday, September 27th from 10-2 AND its still only $5.00 per item. That is such a deal I can hardly even believe it! Don’t miss this opportunity to find out if you have trash or a treasure. (Although I see everything as treasure no matter).
It looks like Tarentum business owners recently got together to brain storm some ideas to promote the business district and the result is the new Tarentum Night Market! As one that remembers Tarentum back in its heyday when every store from G.C. Murphy to Isaly’s was filled with shoppers, I can tell you Tarentum was a bustling little metropolis. It housed the doctors complex, restaurants, bars, theater, bowling above the theater, mens clothing store, furniture store and a bakery and florists to name a few.
The first Tarentum Night Market event will be Thursday, September 17, 5-8. You can find the complete article in the Valley News Dispatch to read up on the initiative!
