Last of the blooms.
This is a time of transition for the flowering plants on the Pittsburgh patio. The coleus in the lady head planter is called something like wedding veil. This is the second year I planted it and it does not disappoint in the container garden. It thrives in the shady side of the yard and is super easy to care for.
This past week turned out to be a very busy one. There was very little time between the raindrops and life to do anything on the Pittsburgh Patio, so I’m out here today catching up. Sunday revival takes on a whole new meaning with a wilted and sad looking bunch of potted herbs staring at me.
They are so forgiving. That’s so sweet. Forgiveness is everything. There is nothing better for me than hanging on the Pittsburgh Patio and making time to trim, water and harvest this tiny garden. They give back so much in the winter kitchen.
In spite of the downpours that we have had this summer, a few days without watering a container garden is obvious.
I’m going to light some incense (it is a revival after all) revive the basil, pull off dead marigolds from their stems and clean the garden up.
A perfectly uninterrupted Sunday afternoon.
Amen
